For our company, there is no more rewarding recognition than the loyalty of a client who comes back to us time and again. After completing a house extension project in Mandelieu, our client called on us for a new project – enclosing a swimming pool and pouring a slab. Here is how we went about it:
1. Site Preparation
To carry out our client’s project, we first had to prepare and consolidate the ground. The first step was to excavate the trenches that would then receive the foundations.
2. Building Strip Foundations
After excavating the trenches and removing the soil from the site, we moved on to the foundations. Strip foundations were poured to support the new structure. We set up the formwork and the rebar, then poured the concrete. This stage is crucial to ensure the stability and strength of the construction.
3. Building the Concrete Block Retaining Wall
Concrete block retaining walls were built to frame the space of the former pool. These walls provide a solid base for the new structure that will safely enclose the pool, as well as a sturdy support for the future slab.
4. Enclosing the Pool with a Steel Tube Structure
Once the walls around the perimeter were built, we proceeded to enclose the pool. This involved building a structure of steel tubes, designed to fit the shape and dimensions of the existing pool and provide a solid barrier.
5. Building the Technical Room
At the client’s request, a technical room was built to create additional, discreet storage space. A hatch will be installed at the end of the work to provide access when needed.
6. Pouring the Reinforced Slab
Finally, a reinforced concrete slab was poured to complete the enclosure of the pool. This slab provides a solid, even surface and serves as the base for the newly created space above the former pool.
